(This post was edited 12/17/18) As much as I love the holiday season, it can be a time of year for massive amounts of waste.  It's estimated that over 4 million tons of trash are created from wrapping paper and shopping bags, from the U.S. alone (basically the amount of waste it would take to circle the Earth 9 times... yikes).
